Upon arrival the Deputy Fire Chief investigated suspicious
smoke smell / sighting. Investigation discovered an
electrical fire had begun in an outdoor plug socket. The
occupants were evacuated and firefighters shut off the
building electrical and opened up the outside wall to ensure
there was no fire extension into the wall space. Had this
electrical fire continued un-noticed, a structure fire would
have caused extensive damage to the home.
This was a very close call and a is a good reminder to
everyone; investigate any unusual smoke or smells
immediately to determine the cause.

Fire page received at 18:04 hours for a vehicle fire. Crews
responded to the incident where upon arrival, the quick and
helpful assistance of nearby residents had brought the fire
under control. The Fire Department overhauled the vehicle to
ensure any smouldering materials were fully extinguished and
that the vehicle was safe to release back to the owners
care. There were no injuries to the occupant or
firefighters. Approximately 100 gallons of water was used. |

using two 1 1/2 inch hoses. The fire was extinguished using

Received page for a structure fire at 10:11 am. First crews
on scene quickly deployed a 2.5" hose line in an aggresive
defensive attack to knock down the fire. Additional arriving
crews then pulled an additional hose from the Engine and
kept the fire confined to the area of origin. One of the two
buildings involved in this fire escaped with only minor
damage, while the building of origin was a loss. 2 Tenders
were used to deliver the required firefighting water supply
of approximately 2000 gallons of water. The lone
occupant escaped with only minor smoke inhalation and was
treated at the Health Clinic. The firewatcher later
discovered and extinguished several potential spot fires in
the forest litter adjacement to the damaged structures. |

All Fire Pagers activated for report of structure fire
out-of-district. Crews responded to scene with portable
pumps, hose, breathing apparatus to assist out-of-district
structure fire.
RCMP assisted with boat transport using two RCMP vessels to
shuttle fire crews and equipment. MOE was contacted due to
possible release of possible toxins from hazardous
materials. Sufficient crews were retained and on standby to
respond to a call within the fire protection district. One
fireghter was released from scene due to aggravation of a
previous knee injury. No other injuries reported. |

All Fire Pagers activated for LPG tanker truck in a
precarious and potential roll-over situation. RCMP
requesting assistance to stabilize the scene. Nearby
residents advised to evacuate temporarily while crews secure
the scene and make the situation safe. Fire Crews perform
tactical evacuations of nearby residents. Fire Crews on
standby in case of leak/fire. Heavy Equipmennt called in to
perform safe righting of LPG tanker truck and return tanker
truck to to the roadway. All clear given and residents
returned home following safe removal of the LPG tanker
truck. No injuries reported, no damage to property or
equipment reported. |
