Firefighters attended a motor vehicle incident inside the Ferry Terminal for a vehicle incident involving two vehicles with multiple patients. A First Responder crew was assigned to the patients and another crew was assigned to fire protection. There was no fire occurance with any of the involved vehicles, however one patient with serious injuries was med-evaced directly from the Terminal by BC Ambulance Med-Evac helicopter landing inside the Terminal compound. After the patients were transported, firefighters cleaned up debris and spilled fluids before returning to service.

12 Firefighters turned out / 10 Firefighters on scene
Firefighters responded to the home on Cedarhill Road and extinguished the chimney fire quickly using less than 2 gallons of water. Tempertatures of more than twice normal operating temperatures were contained within the chimney and no structural damage occured to the building.

Caller reported untended / abandoned open fire - Duty Officer investigated. Upon arrival at the location the Duty Officer was met by the occupant. The occupant was ordered to obtain a valid burning permit prior to relighting or adding additional fuel to the open fire.

Please note: a valid burning permit is required prior to lighting all outdoor fires on Mayne Island. Burning Permits may obtained from the Fire Hall Monday through Friday: 9am - 3pm and Saturday 9am - 12noon. Burning Permits &  Requirements...

Large unidentified fire reported by Coast Guard; on Mayne Island, near the North end of Miners Bay. Firefighters responded emercency to Miner's Bay area and quickly identified the approximate location of the fire to be on Laura Point Road near 'Turtle Rock'. The fire was quickly located and identified as a large machine piled land clearing burn taking place.
As this could easily have been a home on fire (until it was identfied otherwise), the department turned out 'all hands, code 3 emergency response'.
